I am an exchange student from Taiwan. I'm interested in Japan because of Manga. I like the unique culture of Japan, and the history that led to it. I came here because I want to know more about life in Japan through actually living here.

I want to first share my experience at Kindai University. I think the teachers' teaching style is similar to that in Taiwan, but there are fewer tests and less homework here. Instead, there are more reports. One thing that surprised me was that all of the text books are in Japanese. In my university, especially in departments related to science, all of the text books are in English.

I met many teachers and students in Kindai who are friendly to foreigners. I really appreciate that. I'm not good at making friends, and I heard that it's hard to make friends with Japanese people, so I was nervous at first. Maybe people in Osaka are different.

Concerning Japanese culture, what impressed me the most was the Matsuri. There are so many festivals in Japan. I had a good time in Ikoma-sai. I never knew that an event in the university can last for five days, including preparation and cleaning. In my university, it's not impossible for all of the students to spend so much time for the school's event. Even in high school, the scale is much smaller. I also went to see other festivals in the shrines such as Jidai matsuri and Setsubun. It's amazing that so many people are willing to spend their spare time to prepare for the events.

I had a great time this year. I hope that I still have the chance to come to Japan again.
